"The potential possibilities of any child are the most intriguing and stimulating in all creation." ... Ray L. Wilbur

Since the first camping session 15 years ago, Camp Dream has worked to provide a recreational facility and opportunities for Georgians with disabilities. Creation of the Camp was a cooperative effort between The Georgia Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) and the Roosevelt Warm Springs Rehabilitation Institute.  Initial funding of $11.4 million was secured and the Camp was built on the grounds of the Center for Therapeutic Recreation at Warm Springs.

From the very beginning, the Camp has provided a safe and enjoyable camping experience for moderately to severely disabled children, regardless of their particular condition.  Camp Dream has been designed and built to be barrier-free for people of all ages with a wide variety of disabilities and severity levels. This facility is a gift of love to disabled Georgians and is a place where they have an opportunity to develop their full potential as people in a rustic, natural setting.

Our programs are provided to campers at no cost to enable even the most financially challenged families to participate.  The Foundation, during 2009 has added a mandate to bring recreational opportunities to these same children nearby to where they reside to increase the number of children that are afforded opportunities to enjoy themselves, enhance their self esteem and establish self confidence.

Camp Dream continues to grow so that more disabled Georgians can enjoy the opportunities that the camp provides.  Within the next two years the Camp will be operating at least 3 camping sessions per summer with capability to expand to 8 camping sessions using the existing facilities.
