Why is Camp Dream important to you?
So often I have heard from parents that this place is a blessing to them and thier families. That after camp their children can't wait for next year. Its important because I have seen children's looks of accomplishment when they didnt think they could do something like turning on a faucet, and they did. Its important because a child deserves to go swimming although they are unable to move thier limbs. Its important for those donating thier time to these children to know exactly how much they do for our kids.
It is important to me because its important to mine, yours and everyone elses kids!

"I was reading a Bible verse about Heaven to my camper, he asked me to read a verse to him everynight. After I finished we were talking and he asked me 'What do you think Heaven is like?" I told him that I thought Heaven was different for everyone. I told him to imagine the most wonderful place he could imagine and that that would be his Heaven. He thought about it a minute and looked up at me with those big eyes and said "Camp Dream is my Heaven." I cried for days! That same year I purchased a brick and placed it in the court yard with so many others and the brick reads 'Michael and Bev's Lil piece of Heaven". Now we, (Michael and Me) are and will always be part of Camp Dream.
Michael if you read this, I think about you every year and I hope and pray that you are doing wonderfully. Please know you touched my heart that year and I will never forget you."

" For me Camp Dream is an opportunity for us to show our children and our community that one person, caring about another, can make a difference. The kids and families we work with are amazing people, they overcome so much every day. They inspire me to do everything I can and to be a better human being."

"Last year one of our campers parents was talking with me at family day, she told me that the Camp is her only opportunity to spend any time away from her child. Over the years her spouse had abandoned her, her family stopped helping care for the child, and she couldn't get sitters. Talking with her, and seeing her tears, I gained some insight into just how tough it is to be a parent of a child with a physical or mental condition."

'Camp Dream is important to me because it gives a child with disabilities 4 days to just be a Kid. Camp Dream is a place where a child is not known for thier disability but for their personality. Camp brings out the inner child in evryone that attends and thats what makes the atmosphere so inviting and caring for all the campers. Camp Dream will Always be my favorite summer activity.'

'My favorite Camp Dream sotry would have to b when my camper, Tracy Woodard, won Camp King. Tracy worked for 3 days shaking hands and saying "Vote for me, Tracy Woodard". When Saturday night came and the votes were counted Tracy was awarded King of Camp Dream. the look on his facewas of amazement and Joy, Tracy wore that crown with pride, and still to this day tells everyone at camp he is the King.
